Events

Updated 16 Oct 2026

Events are time-limited quests with their own story, bosses and rewards that are hard to get anywhere else. They sit in Quest > Extra Quest > Limited Time.

Time-limited events are not running for everyone on MD:Rebirth yet, and there are no dates to share. Watch the news. Events need story Quest 3-10 cleared; before that the Limited Time tab stays empty. See what is running in Quests & Events.

Event points

Most events give event points for every clear while the event runs. Points unlock point rewards (units, weapons, crystals, Memory Diamonds and more), which go to your Gift Box.

Points per clear = the quest's difficulty points x your clear rank bonus.

DifficultyPoints
1st (Intermediate)50
2nd (Expert)125
3rd (EX)250
4th (Master and above)300
Clear rankBonus
Sx2
Ax1.5
Bx1.2
Cx1

So an S-rank clear of an EX quest is worth 500 points. Hard quests at rank S are by far the fastest way up the reward list.

In the original game, having a unit from the same event in your party gave extra event items. This bonus may differ on MD:Rebirth.

Each event page in Quests & Events lists its difficulties, bosses, reward units and weapons.

Kinds of events

Story events

The most common kind. Clear quests to collect event items and points, which unlock chapters of the event story. Reading each event story chapter gives 5 Memory Diamonds. Event items can also be traded at the exchange shop for skill slot materials and limited equipment.

Character events

Clear the event's quests to the end and you are guaranteed the event's unit. Event units grow with their own Event Crystals, which only drop in that event, so collect plenty while it runs.

Character Introduction Quests

Short quests where you fight a unit from a current scout and read their story. Their bonus missions pay Memory Diamonds. Some also drop medallions for skill slots.

Equipment Creation events

Bosses drop equipment with unique battle skills. Higher difficulties have a better chance. Some of this gear gets an extra effect during the next ranking event.

Ranking events (High Score)

You compete for the highest single score in a group of players. Score comes from:

  • damage dealt (capped at each enemy's HP),
  • a clear bonus by difficulty,
  • a time bonus for fast clears,
  • minus a penalty for damage taken (never below zero).

Only cleared runs count, and a run where you used a continue does not update your score. At the end, rewards go out by your final rank: often an exclusive unit and Scout Medals.

Series of Battles ranking events add up the score of two quests in a row, and units cannot be reused between the two, so you need two strong parties.

Ranking events are coming later on MD:Rebirth.

Medal Scouts

Scout Medals from ranking events are spent on Medal Scouts, in the ranking event screen. Each scout costs 10 medals of one colour:

MedalWhat it gives
GoldA medal-exclusive ★4 unit, guaranteed
SilverA chance at a medal-exclusive unit
BronzeA smaller chance at a medal-exclusive unit

Medals carry over between events, so you can save them. A duplicate from a Medal Scout turns into a Release Crystal for that unit.

Defensive War

Enemies march on one or more Crystal Monuments. Defend them: if any crystal's HP reaches zero, or your whole party falls, the quest fails. You cannot continue in these quests.

Special battle events

Later in the game's life, events added their own rules. Most were built for multiplayer:

EventIn short
Floor ClearingClimb a 100-floor dungeon. Each unit can only depart a limited number of times between gates, and fallen units sit out
QT Point ClearingA 25-floor version of Floor Clearing with break points that reset departures
Break BattleSolo. Fill a boss's Break Gauge to extend the time limit. Certain weapon types break faster. No continues, no Supporters
Time Limit BattleDefeat the boss in time and pick from a treasure store. Multiplayer gives more
Tag BattleTwo-player parties climb the floors together
Area Clearing and Integrity KnightBeat a quest to summon a powerful Break-in Boss with big rewards
All-Out Infinity BattleFight a boss whose HP carries over between attempts, using access keys
Guild events and PvPGuild score contests, and PvP matches that raise your BoB rank

In some multiplayer events the boss targets the player with the most hate: dealing damage and healing raise it, and maces raise it the most, so a mace user can act as the tank.

Co-op quests and the PvP arena are open on MD:Rebirth; multiplayer events are coming later. See Co-op, PvP, Supporters and guilds.
