About MD:Rebirth

Is MD:Rebirth free? Yes. It is a non-commercial fan project. There is nothing to buy; every Memory Diamond is earned in game.

Is it the same game as the original? It is the original game client running on a new server. Most rules match the original. Where MD:Rebirth differs (for example how fast new units arrive), the guides say so.

Can I play with my old account? No. The original servers and their accounts are gone, so everyone starts a new account.

Can I play on iPhone? Check the Download page for the devices that are supported.

Playing

Is there stamina? No. Memory Defrag never had stamina, so you can play as many quests as you like.

When does the day reset? At 15:00 UTC for the login bonus, daily missions, once-per-day quests and the co-op Bond Point limit. Guild donations and joins reset at 06:00 UTC. The weekday quests follow the UTC calendar day. See Your daily routine.

I cannot start a duel quest. Why? Duel quests allow only one unit. Remove the other units from your party first.

How do I get better at parrying? Watch for the enemy's eyes to flash red, then use your weapon's parry input. Each weapon is different; see the parry table.

How do I change my name? Menu > Status > Edit User Info, or press and hold your character in town.

Why can I not see any events? Events open after story Quest 3-10. See Events.

Is multiplayer available? Yes. Co-op quests (up to three players), the PvP arena and the guild basics are open to everyone. See Co-op, PvP, Supporters and guilds.

What is not open yet? Quest boosts (EXP and Col & Item Boosts), paying Memory Diamonds for missing crystals, extra treasure chests, unlocking skill slots, limit breaks, guild missions, the Guild Shop and guild events are not open yet. Ranking events and Urgent Quests are coming later. The news says when each one opens.

Units

Can I sell units? No. Units cannot be sold. Duplicates from scouts turn into Hacking Crystals instead.

How do I level a unit past 80? With limit breaks: 50 Holy Hacking Crystals per step for a ★4, 100 for a ★5, four steps up to level 100. See Limit breaks.

Can a ★4 become a ★5? Many can, with 10 Upgrade Crystals. See Upgrading ★4 to ★5.

What happens to duplicate units? They become Hacking Crystals for limit breaks. See Duplicates.

Which units are the best? This site does not rank units. Each unit's stats, skills and skill slots are on its page in Units, and you can sort the list by any stat. Bring units whose element beats the enemy; see Elements and weapon types.

Scouts and items

Do single scouts or 11-unit scouts have better rates? The rates per unit are the same. The 11-unit scout is better value because it gives 11 units for the price of 10.

What are the scout rates? ★6 3%, ★5 3%, ★4 4%, ★3 25% and ★2 65% on standard banners. Each banner's page under Scouts shows its own.

Where do I get Decryption Keys? From story battles, chests in later chapters and rank missions. See the key table.

My equipment box is full. What now? Sell spare low-rarity gear for Col, keep ★3 and better pieces as evolution material, or expand the box with Memory Diamonds.

Should I turn off sword skill animations? In the original game it only made a difference in multiplayer.
